The Pride records 80.50 to edge Milwaukie by less than one point

On Feb. 22, 18 dance teams representing the 4A-1A, 5A, and 6A divisions competed at Sherwood.
In the 5A division, Wilsonville and Milwaukie went head to head. The Pride posted an 80.50 to earn first place. Milwaukie was close behind with a 79.70.
Four teams competed in the 4A-1A division. It was a close race between Valley Catholic and Stayton for first place. The Charisma posted an 85.50 to narrowly take first place over the Highlights (85.17). Gladstone finished third (74.70) and Estacada was fourth
(62.57).
Twelve teams competed in the 6A division. Tigard, debuting its piece “Preach,” earned first place (83.20). Westview finished second (81.87).
Both Tigard and Westview will sit out the 2020 State dance and drill championships next month to compete at the 2020 USA dance nationals.
Lincoln’s performance of “Stand by Me,” earned it third place (80.57). Gresham (80.10) and Sunset (77.13) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Rounding out the division were Tualatin (76.57), Mountainside (75.03), Lakeridge (67.23), Century (64.00), Bend (59.80), Benson (59.70), and Sandy (57.80).
Teams in the 4-1A, 5A, 6A, and Show divisions will compete Saturday at Pendleton and Sprague.
